With 134 plays in a week..i had to post something on Royksopp.

I just got to know this band. And am totally addicted to it. I got to know Royksopp through the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide Summer 2006 a friend gave me. And looked for some more songs. Actually am totally to one song in particular for the moment..and that is "What else is there". Although the remix i had listened was pretty cool..i need to warn u the clip of the original song my Royksopp is very spooky..

Below is what i got on Royksopp from Last.fm

Röyksopp (sometimes misspelled as 'Royksopp' or 'Røyksopp') is an electronic and chill-out music duo based in Bergen, but the members are originally from Tromsø, Norway. The band consists of Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge. The group formed officially in 1998 and released their debut album Melody A.M. in 2001. In Norwegian, "The word "Röyksopp", which literally means "(a) smoke mushroom", refers to a type of mushroom that will make a smoky cloud when touched. (The English term is fuzz ball or puffball). Norwegians pronounce the word as ['røykˌsop:] in IPA, which an English speaker can try to approximate with roik-sopp" (source). The letter Ö is written as Ø in Norwegian (aswell as in danish), and represents the vowel sound [ø] (oe). Ö is a letter which occurs in the Swedish, Finnish, Estonian, German, Hungarian, Turkish, and Icelandic alphabets. It is not an official character within these languages, with the exception of Hungarian, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Estonian and Icelandic. This character also occurs in Afrikaans (South Africa), but it is regarded as a punctuated "O". They decided to use the Icelandic letter because they thought it looked better.
